Introduction to Texas tickle bugz
A lot of people ask about the name
Texas Tickle Bugz. Treva Starnes created the name and the
company. When playing with her grandchildren she would say
here comes the “Tickle Bug”! And then tickle them. So when
she was thinking about a name for her company “Tickle Bug”
sounded good. And of course Texas just made it perfect.
Treva started monogramming in 1979. She did her
monogramming free handed on a commercial sewing machine.
Treva participated in local craft fairs and trade shows
during this time. In 2004 Treva upgraded to single thread
monogramming machine. She thought she was in heaven with
this machine. Jo Ann Robertson bought the company from Treva
Farmer in early 2007. She didn't have a clue how to monogram
with Treva's machine. In early 2008 Texas Tickle Bugz
bought commerical machine with software that is able to
create logos and special designs. JoAnn is still learning
how to use the machine and the software, she loves the
creative process of working with the designs on the
computer. Then being able to transfer the design to the
machine and watch it sew.
Today the company has expanded its business to include
decorative drinkware, heat transfer, Bling, applique,
creating one of a kind monogramming, logo creation, custom
sewing and alternations. Texas Tickle Bugz has a shoppe
located at 5153 Hwy 34 in Ennis and we also participate in
local craft fairs, trade shows, and charity events.
Treva is still part of the working
creative process. She is the organized one.
Jo Ann is the one that needs someone
to help keep her organized. Together we are what make Texas
Tickle Bugz the company that it is today.
